OnePlus has confirmed that Android 10 is in the process of landing on its 7 series of smartphones ahead of the 7T’s launch.

Android 10 – or Android Queen Cake in an alternate timeline – is starting its global rollout on the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro via an over the air update. There was an Android 10 open beta on the 7 series earlier this month so you may already be familiar with the new features, but if not, here’s what you have to look forward to:

System

  • Upgraded to Android 10
  • Brand new UI design
  • Enhanced location permissions for privacy
  • New customization feature in the Settings allowing you to choose icon shapes to be
  • displayed in the Quick Settings

    Full Screen Gestures

  • Added inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back
  • Added a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recent apps

    Game Space

  • New Game Space feature now joins all your favorite games in one place for easier access and better gaming experience

    Smart display

  • Supported intelligent info based on specific times, locations and events for Ambient
  • Display (Settings – Display – Ambient Display – Smart Display)

    Message

  • Now possible to block spam by keywords for Message (Messages – Spam – Settings – Blocking Settings)

So that’s new gestures, a new smart display, and improved privacy permissions that you’ll see coming to the OnePlus 7 series starting today, and most likely coming to the upcoming OnePlus 7T not long after its launch, this October 10 in Europe.
